Among the main features of the artist's creative handwriting are bright color saturation, complex texture, and a harmoniously assembled composition. Despite the impressive variety of genres in which the artist works (Grigoryan paints landscapes, still lifes, nude models, and genre paintings), women's portraits are his specialty.
More than 50 works by Yuri Grigoryan are in the collections of state museums and galleries in Russia and the former Soviet Union, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Oriental Art, and the Museum of modern art in Moscow, the State Gallery of Armenia, and others.
A considerable number of the artist's works are in famous art galleries in different countries: Gallery Actuel Basmadjan (France), Nicolay&Son (Germany), Show Office Montreal (Canada), New Generation Cultural Society (Australia), Roy Miles Gallery (England), Schnittke Museum (Germany), Bernd-Artin Wessels Museum (Germany), M. There are two monographs and multiple articles devoted to the Mr. Gregorian's art. Among the authors are the country's' leading art critics and journalists, writers. The artist's family archive contains letters of sympathy and recognition for his works by Aram Khachaturian, Yuri Dombrovsky, and Andrey Dementiev. Mr. Grigoryan actively participates in exhibitions, he is also a successful participant of international auctions.
In August 2006, he was awarded the title "Honored Artist of Russia" by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation. In October 2010, he received the title of the corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts. In 2018, he was awarded the Gold medal of the Russian Academy of Arts.
