"Everything in this world is connected," says Katika, an artist who creates portraits using threads and a crochet hook.

Her works differ from classical paintings due to their unusual technique, and their content makes them different from practical decor items. Katika uses the perception of crocheted as harmless, cozy, and practical items to create a contradiction between the form and the content.

Transformations, the contrast between the old and the new, the practical and the impractical, the rational and the irrational are the themes that the artist is keen on exploring in her works.

The artist works from a photo only. Both an old archive photograph and a frame from a professional photographer will be suitable. Katika is ready to meet in Moscow and the Moscow region to take a picture herself.
